Wonderful Wheat Grass
I saw so many cute wheat grass photos on pinterest I wanted to try my own. I love little tea cups and have a few just hangin around my house so I thought maybe some grass would look cute growing out of them. Wheat grass is pretty easy to grow. I just soaked some wheat in a bowl for about 24 hrs. Then I put some soil in the cups and wheat grass on top. I covered the cups with plastic wrap til the grass started growing which was only a couple days. And look at how cute it turned out!
P.S. you do have to clip the grass every few days or it will continue to grow.
Happy Spring!

Ruffle Lamp Redo
I saw the cutest lamp makeover on tv the other day. I had to make it to go with that awsome night stand. It was pretty easy, and depending on the lamp shade size isn't very time consuming. I found the lamp and shade at my thrift store for $5. You deffinately want to have double sided paper and inking the edges of the circles gives it that extra something. I used a cirlce punch with a wavy edge too. Here is the link to the original lamp. I had to show how UGLY the lamp shade was, I brought it home to my daughter and told her this was here new lamp and she gave me the funniest look (you can't be serious mom).
Funny thing my brothers had a fishing themed room when we were growing up. I bet my mom would have loved to have this lamp for that. I spray painted the bottom of the lamp black, it was a weird gold color.

Night Stand Make Over
Night Stand Makeover

Let me just start by saying I have about a million projects that are sitting in my garage or various places through out my home waiting to be made into something glorious. One of these such projects was a night stand my mom gave me for my daughter. As you can see it was pretty plain. But it was a good brand and nice and sturdy. It wasn't until I started painting that I realized the cute little beveled edge under the first drawer. So I new I had to leave the bottom of it white just to accent it. I painted it black and covered the front of the drawers with scrapbook paper. I used Mod Podge to stick it on. I bought the cute rhinestone knobs from Hobby Lobby for half off. Which was around $3 each. So all up the project cost me around $12.
All I can say is head over to your local thrift store or scope out the garage sales because to buy a similar item like this in a store would be close to $100 if not more. Happy Hunting!

Homemade Dishwasher Rinse Aid
Where we live our water is so hard!!! I get so sick of the film that builds all over EVERYTHING! I buy CLR by the bucketloads and it costs a ton! When my dishwasher finally runs out of rinse aid I get the most disgusting film all over my dishes! It drives me crazy!
Soooo...I looked on Pinterest.. and found a nice, cheap substitute for the store brands of rinse aid. Who would have thought that vinegar would do the trick! So cheap too! Here is the link.
Of course once I made the rinse aid I had to make it pretty! So I found an old bottle with a squeeze top under my sink. I rinsed it out and opened up one of my favorite toys to play with....Photoshop.
I found a digital label I had downloaded gave it a few tweeks and this is what I came up with.
I know what your thinking its a little over the top for dishwasher rinse aid but what the heck. I Love it!
First a little about me! I am the proud mother of three beautiful, talented, amazing, challenging and wonderful girls. I am married to the love of my life. I am a work at home mom and I love every single day of it.
I love to create things and make things beautiful and original. I always have around 20 projects going at once. And I love to see how things work and are made and try to create my own version.
Dare I say that I am cheap?!!? I hate to spend money on things I know I can make myself, even if some times they end up costing me more to make them!!!!
I am starting this blog to catolog the things that I make and do weather it be a craft or a project around my house. I am not great at verbalizing things, but I want to get better so here I go!!!
